NEWSLETTER May 2020
The lockdown has ended our season of talks all too early and caused postponement of the Society’s AGM.
Your committee has been considering the best way for us to resume activities.
Assuming that the Government relaxes most of the current restrictions regarding gatherings of people and with the agreement of Stirling House we hope the Society can start a programme of talks in September.
The previously planned visit to RAF Marham may happen later in the year or early 2021 subject to agreement by the MOD.
If this proves to be possible, the first meeting on 17th September will commence with a short AGM, followed by the guest speaker’s talk.
For the new season we are seeking a volunteer to organise the raffle, please contact us if you are interested in taking on this role.
We have booked speakers well into 2021 and those speakers whose talks we had to postpone this Spring have all agreed to return as soon as is possible.
As a consequence of our being forced to cancel the last three meetings, the committee recommends that subscriptions for the 2020 – 2021 season be reduced by £5 for single members and £6 for family memberships. Fees for new members will remain unchanged.
We are planning to update the website as soon as is practical and to include new pictures. If you have photos that you believe to be of use, it does not matter if they are colour or black & white, military or civil, please contact us by email.
